The DWC of Charlotte County: A MATCHING GRANT to support young Democratic Women is available.
As we look to the future there is a unique opportunity: An extremely generous couple is offering a matching grant up to $5000 to fund the DWC Scholarship program in the years to come. You are invited to be a donor and have your funds matched. No amount is too small.
For several years the Democratic Women’s Club (DWC) of Charlotte County has provided financial support for young Democratic women as they graduate from high school and begin their college careers. Two years ago we were able to support two very capable, engaged young women with $1,000 and $500. Last year, two equally talented young women received $1,000 each. Two more young women will receive $1000 in May 2018. Applicants are required to write an essay about “why women in politics matter.” It is fascinating to read the passion and commitment described by these young women. DWC members strive to build relationships with the scholarship recipients and share in their college and life successes.
