A message from Manny Diaz, Chair of the Florida Democratic Party

I’m writing today with an exciting update about the work Florida Democrats are doing to prepare for November. Earlier this week, the FDP announced a historic partnership with our friends in the House and Senate Democratic Caucuses, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, and the Florida Alliance to make an initial investment of $2.5 million to ramp up Democrats’ voter registration program.

The Florida Dems engaged in a major voter registration initiative throughout 2021. Now, with this new joint effort, we will have substantially more capacity to register hundreds of thousands of new voters ahead of the November election. Our united coalition of party leaders, elected officials, and key donors share a commitment to expanding our base. The right to vote is sacred, and the Florida Democratic Party and our allies are giving everything we have to ensure that no Floridian is denied that right in the midterms.

This multi-million dollar joint voter registration initiative is another critical step in our continuing efforts to connect with a diverse group of first-time voters who deserve to have their voices heard. You can read more about this effort in this Tampa Bay Times article about the announcement.

This launch could not come at a more critical time, as Republicans pull out every dirty trick they have. They’ll stop at nothing to halt our momentum–up to and including lying to elderly voters and re-registering them as Republicans without their knowledge. This fraudulent tactic is so egregious that I sent a letter to the Secretary of State’s Office calling on them to conduct an investigation, which you can read here.

We will never stop fighting to protect the sanctity of our elections and, with your continued help, we’ll win big in November.

On to victory,

Manny Diaz,

Chair, Florida Democratic Party

P.S. – We need your help no more than ever as we launch this project. Please consider making a contribution today.
