A message from our chair, Dawn Mann

Good morning fellow Democrats!

What great news out of Georgia this morning! I’m sure we’re all breathing a little easier.

For the benefit of those who weren’t able to attend our Charlotte County Dems Executive Committee (DEC) organizational meeting on Monday, here is our new slate of officers:

Chair: Dawn Mann

Vice Chair of Operations: Lorraine Moneypenny

Vice Chair of Outreach: Paul Platt

Secretary: Kathleen Davey

Treasurer: Bil Tucker

I’m very grateful to Kathleen, Bil and Paul for choosing to run again–their experience and past service in the DEC will be invaluable.

Lorraine Moneypenny did a terrific job running the FDP Blue Shift on-the-ground activities in Charlotte County this past election season. She is an organizational and volunteer recruiting wizard!

Teresa Jenkins and Larry Kuranowicz will be missed in their leadership roles, and I know we all appreciate the excellent work they did while in office.

All of us are thankful for you, our members, for your support and the hard work you do on behalf of the Democratic Party. It’s your energy and your ideas that make the DEC work!

Looking ahead, I would like our theme for the next two years to be Connection & Community

  • We must connect with the residents of Charlotte County and hear what matters to them, right here, right now.
  • We are 30,000+ strong!!  We need to be more visible in our community. We live here too!
  • We can and must build coalitions with state and local like-minded organizations to make life better for everyone in Charlotte County.

I’m excited about what we can do and hope you will be refreshed and re-energized in the new year to tackle the challenges ahead.

Wishing you all the best this holiday season,

Dawn
