Monday, April 8 at 12:30 pm, the Senate Health Policy Committee will hear SB 1774, that would require a young person’s parent to prove parentage and give consent before she could get an abortion.

Call or email the Chair and/or Vice Chair of the Committee and say: “My name is _______ and I am a voter in Charlotte County. Please vote NO on SB 1774. If a young person does not involve their parents in a decision to have an abortion, there is usually a very good reason. These girls may be from broken homes, they may fear physical abuse or fear they would be forced from their homes.  We should not be placing restrictions on young women that jeopardizes their health. Thank you.”

Chair Gayle Harrell (R)
