Attend the Englewood Democratic Club meeting on Wednesday, May 25th

Join us at the Englewood Democratic Club Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 25th from 5:30 to 6:30. It will be an in-person meeting at the Englewood Chamber of Commerce at 601 S. Indiana Ave. as well as streamed on Zoom.

Refreshments will be served immediately after the meeting.  Please select the meeting style of your choice below for details.  After signing up for the Zoom meeting, you will be sent Zoom details prior to the meeting.

The meeting will feature a panel discussion with Teresa Jenkins, chair of the Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee and Joanne DeVries, chair of the Sarasota Democratic Party. The topic will be goals for 2022 and beyond.

Teresa Jenkins is Chair of the Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee. Teresa was founder and President of the SW FL Independent Voter’s Assoc., Board member of the FL League of Women Voters and President of the Charlotte County League of Women Voters. Teresa was the executive director of Pres. Bill Clinton’s Labor Management Partnership Council and helped craft the legislation that created the Department of Homeland Security under Pres. Bush. Currently, Teresa chairs a multi-county NPA Discussion/Texting Group. She is the author of “Make Democracy Work Again,” published in 2016.

JoAnne DeVries has been Chair of the Sarasota County Democratic Party for five years. Currently, she holds the positions of Treasurer of the Democratic County Chairs Assoc. (DCCA) and Chair of the DCCA voter registration committee. JoAnne is also a board member of the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) Campaign Committee and Chair of the FDP’s voter registration subcommittee. Finally, as a longtime disability rights activist on behalf of hearing-impaired persons, JoAnne is a board member of the Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota/Manatee.
