Block Brett Kavanaugh’s Nomination to the Supreme Court

Senate Republicans are rushing the confirmation process of Judge Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court without a review of his entire legal record. The speed of the process begs the question: what are Senate Republicans hiding from the public?

Without this review, it is unclear how Kavanaugh would rule on issues of concern to many citizens such climate change, voting rights, women’s rights, immigrant’s rights, worker’s rights, and others. Yet, there is enough information to be concerned about him and his record on privacy and torture and whether he lied under oath during his nomination to the federal court.

There are two things you can do to halt the nomination process.

First, call Senators Nelson and Rubio (202-224-3121) and demand that the nomination process be halted. Judge Kavanaugh would be the deciding vote on rights to privacy and liberty and other social issues. There is no need to rush the nomination process.

Second, meet your fellow citizens on August 26 for a protest against the lifelong appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. The protest will be held at Centennial Park in Ft. Myers from noon to 4pm.

The Supreme Court is the final arbiter of our laws and Constitution, and its rulings dramatically impact our rights and freedoms. With so much as stake, we cannot back down.
