Charlotte County Public Schools Superintendent Search

A meesage from Cara Reynolds, Chair, Charlotte County School Board.

As you may know, our current superintendent, Steve Dionisio, will be retiring after 33 years of dedicated service to our school district. We are grateful for his leadership and commitment in providing a high-quality education for all students, and we wish him the best in his retirement.

I am excited to announce that the School Board is launching a nationwide search for a superintendent to lead our district. The search process will include input from staff, families, and community members. A Superintendent Search Portal has been added to the District’s website. All information related to the superintendent search will be available in the portal. The portal can be found here:

I am inviting you to participate in an online survey and to inform you about upcoming community forums to help determine the qualifications and qualities that are important to you in the next superintendent of Charlotte County Public Schools. This is a significant step in our search process, and your input will be vital in ensuring that we find the best candidate to lead our district forward. The online survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and can be accessed by visiting the Superintendent Search Portal. The survey will close on Thursday, February 9, 2023. The link for the service can be found here:

There will be three (3) in person community forums and one (1) in person staff forum beginning Thursday, January 26, 2023 and ending Thursday, February 9, 2023. The specifics on the dates, times, and locations can also be found in the portal. Forum information can be found here:

We appreciate your time and input and we look forward to receiving your responses.
