Income inequality in the U.S. has hit its highest level since the Census Bureau started tracking it more than five decades ago. “Let us be clear: Our economic reality is not mere circumstances; these are the result of policy choices,” Professor Mark Paul, March 3, 2018.
On December 10, 2019, Professor Paul, assistant professor of economics and environmental studies at the New College of Florida, will discuss the causes and consequences of inequality and assess the remedies to address it.
Professor Paul is a fellow at the Roosevelt Institute and a senior fellow at Data for Progress. He is also a political economist working in the areas of inequality, environmental economics, and applied microeconomics.
His presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Charlotte County Democratic headquarters, 3596 Tamiami Trail, Unit 102, Port Charlotte. The presentation is hosted by the Charlotte County Democratic Club.
