The Charlotte County Democratic Party and the Veterans Caucus will supply Thanksgiving dinners to Veterans and their families who reside at the Punta Gorda Veterans Village at 1250 Taylor Street in Punta Gorda on Wednesday, November 25. Dinners will be prepared by the Bob Evans restaurant in Port Charlotte and will be picked up by members of the Democratic Party at 12:00 noon. and delivered to the residents of the Punta Gorda Veterans Village at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The Punta Gorda Veterans Village is part of the Punta Gorda Grant & Per Diem Program that provides transitional housing and supportive services to homeless Veterans in order to stabilize and prepare them for a life of independence.
“Many of these Veterans aren’t able to have a hot Thanksgiving dinner this year,” said Democratic Party Vice Chair, Nancy Razvoza. “The local Party is helping these Veterans have an experience of how a holiday should be by serving them a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.”
“Thanksgiving dinner can be a tradition for many families. But for some, particularly during this pandemic, that meal can seem out of reach. This is our way of saying thank you for the service and sacrifices these Veterans have made for our country,” said Democratic Party Chair, Teresa Jenkins.
