DWC is collecting gift cards for Charlotte County homeless moms

By Kay Blue, DWC president

Every year, the Democratic Women’s Club (DWC) collects gift cards for Charlotte County mothers who are registered in the Charlotte County schools’ homeless program.  Due to COVID-19, this year the number in need has grown.

The DWC is asking for and collecting gift cards that can be redeemed locally.  Some suggestions are grocery or gas gift cards.  Other cards that allow the mothers to purchase holiday items for their families are also appreciated.

The DWC collects the cards, and the school program distributes them to the moms.  There are two ways to donate.

Gift cards can be purchased and sent to the DWC, or

The DWC will also accept checks made out to the DWC with a memo indicating gift card donation written on the check or in a note accompanying the check.

Your donation and/or pre-purchased gift cards should be mailed by December 4th to: DWC Treasurer, 1181 Dewhurst St., Port Charlotte, FL  33952.
