DWC resumes in-person meetings with program about the U.S. Presidency

By Kay Blue, Charlotte County Democratic Women’s Club (DWC) President.

Who are the five best presidents and the five worst presidents of the United States?  Find out the answer on April 11th at 2:00 pm when the Democratic Women’s Club resumes in-person meetings.  Our speaker will be Paul Platt, local presidential expert.  Platt is a Florida retiree, originally from Ohio.  His education includes degrees and certificates from Heidelberg University, DePaul University, and Edison State College.  His professional background is also diverse.  He has a background in social work, healthcare, and teaching.

Platt started his interest in the Presidency in 1960 when he was 12 years old.  John Kennedy was running for president, the Centennial Celebration was beginning, and the Centennial of Abraham Lincoln’s election to the Presidency were all happening.  He couldn’t help but get caught up in the topic.  In addition to revealing his five best and worst president picks, Platt will also discuss the definition of the U.S. presidency and the future of the presidency.

The meeting is Monday, April 11 at 2:00. In the future, we hope to offer a hybrid program, allowing for both participation in person and via Zoom. However, the April 11 meeting will be in-person only. We will meet at the Charlotte County Democratic Club, located at 3596 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte’s Sunnydell Plaza. Guests are welcome.
