EDITORIAL: New voucher program isn’t about choice, it’s about sabotaging public schools

To the surprise of no one, the Florida Legislature boosted the fortunes of private schools this week as the House approved a new voucher program without a thought to whether those schools are doing a good job of teaching kids.

The new program is aimed at middle-class families, and it’ll draw up to $130 million directly from the state budget, money that otherwise could go to strengthening public schools.
