Hurricane Dorian tried, but failed, to stop the 63rd Englewood Pioneers Days Parade on Labor Day. The parade was rescheduled for Sat. Nov 2nd, 2019. It turned out to be a great day for Democrats!

The theme of Pioneers Days this year was “Living the Dream”. The Englewood Democratic Club Parade Float committee brainstormed, planned, and ultimately created not one, but two, awesome floats. We tore down the first float because we had to return the trailer that we built the float on. So when the parade was rescheduled, we started over and built a second float!

The theme of the float was “Living the Dream on a Planet That’s Green” and featured an environmental message and some amazing dolphins!

Our entry also included many walkers carrying banners and signs including one that proclaimed “Protect Our Environment”. Out of 52 entries in the parade, our float won one of the big awards, the environmental award, “The EcoGreen” Award!

We were even asked to participate in two parades in December in Rotonda and North Port! It was a special event that displayed our passion and showcased values dear to Democrats everywhere.

A huge thank you to all the dedicated Democrats who made this wonderful experience possible.
