The African American Experience in Punta Gorda during the Great Migration

We will celebrate Black History Month by offering a special presentation to our community.  We welcome newcomers, as well as confirmed Charlotte County history buffs.
Martha Bireda Executive Director of the Blanchard House Museum in Punta Gorda, FL will speak on the topic: The African American Experience in Punta Gorda during the Great Migration.  Sponsored by the Charlotte County Democratic Party, her discussion will highlight the “unique sociology of Punta Gorda following Reconstruction and the early 1900s.
