Keep Charlotte County beautiful and commemorate Earth Day 2021 on April 22nd

The Charlotte County Democratic Club (CCDC) will honor Earth Day on April 22 by removing trash on Olean Rd from Kings Hwy to Beacon St.   Volunteers are welcome and supplies will be furnished.

If you would like to join this event, please arrive at CCDC Headquarters located at 3596 Tamiami Trail, #102, Port Charlotte by 10 AM April 22, 2021.  All are welcome!

Also at 10 AM on April 22, the Charlotte County Democratic Environmental Caucus will meet and perform clean-up at Live Oak Point Park located at 5100 Tamiami Trail in Charlotte Harbor, on the northbound side of Route 41, just north of the Peace River Bridge from Punta Gorda. Interested individuals will also be instructed how to test the water quality in our area. Volunteers are welcome and supplies will be furnished.  For more info or to confirm you will attend, please contact  [email protected]

The Englewood Democrat Club is co-sponsoring an orderly and peaceful Earth Day demonstration of the phosphate mining issue in light of the Piney Point disaster, the effects of which are yet to be known.  We are inviting all who want our waters to remain clean to join us on Thursday, April 22 between 5 -6 pm at the corner of Dearborn and Route 776.

Please bring signs that say things like urge the “EPA To Superfund All Florida Gypstacks”, “No More Phosphate Mining”, as well as signs mentioning any anti-protest bills or water bills in the Florida legislature that jeopardize our right to clean water.
