Democratic U.S. Rep. Val Demings again had a better fundraising quarter than her GOP opponent as she seeks to unseat U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

Demings raised $7.2 million in the last three months of 2021, compared to $5.2 million for Rubio, a Republican. It was the third quarter in a row that Demings outperformed Rubio in fundraising.

Rubio still has $10.6 million in cash on hand, compared to $8.2 million for Demings.

A former police chief, Demings raised $8.5 million in the third quarter, more than any Senate challenger in the country, according to Politico, and $2.5 million more than Rubio.
