From May 28th to 31st, United States flags will fly in a solemn formation at Laishley Park, creating an awe-inspiring panorama that will be available for everyone to enjoy. This stirring display of 1000+ flags will be a community tribute to honor our heroes. Each U.S. flag will represent an individual and therein tells a story. The Stars & Stripes reminds us of who we are as a people. It represents our solidarity, strengthening us to meet challenges and over-come hardships. It unites us all.
“Rotary Opens Opportunities” is the theme for the inaugural Healing Field of Honor® display hosted by Punta Gorda Rotary Club and Foundation. This moving display is made possible through individual flag sponsorships, event sponsorships, and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers.
The Rotary Club is proud to have the Charlotte County Democrats as a “Freedom Sponsor” of the Healing Field of Honor®. You can show your support and gratitude by becoming an individual flag sponsor and/or donating. All donations go to the Punta Gorda Rotary Charity & Education Foundation to fund local charitable organizations.
Flags may be sponsored for $40 each to honor those who have fallen in defense of our liberty as well as individuals currently serving in the military, veterans, first responders, health care workers, heroes in our lives, victims of human trafficking, and hometown heroes. This unique event is the perfect opportunity for us to remember and honor our heroes.
And sign up to volunteer! We’ll be assembling the flags at the Charlotte Harbor Events Center on Wednesday, May 26. On Thursday, May 27, we’ll be putting up the flags in Laishley Park. And on June 1, will be taking down the display, and if you would like to take your flag home, this is when you’ll pick it up.
Please participate in and visit Punta Gorda’s Healing Field of Honor® and walk with us among the flags. Help heal our country and honor our fallen warriors and other heroes.
How to sponsor a flag.

Click on “Dedicate a Flag and Pick up Your Flag” (Rotary will pick up your flag for you and have it a Laishley Park)
To add your dedication, proceed to Checkout.
Add your dedication in the: “Dedicated to/or in Memory of” box, on the Check Out page. Note: You can dedicate multiple flags in the dedication box (Example: Flag 1 – Dedication | Flag 2 – Dedication, and so forth). When you complete the “Dedicated from” box, please also say you’re with the Charlotte Dems.
Finally, check out using a credit card. That’s all there is to it.
