The U.S. Congress recently passed a bill, despite Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s “no” vote, which provides incentives to make sustainable energy sources more affordable. Some of these incentives include a 30% tax credit on solar energy systems, on energy storage technologies, as well as tax credits for home builders. The bill also provides up to $7,500 tax credit on electric vehicles (EVs), a 30% tax credit on EV chargers, and a $8,000 rebate on heat pumps.
Rebates and discounts are also available for a wide array of equipment such as heat pump water heaters, electric stoves, cooktops, ranges and ovens.
Rubio also voted against federal funding for disaster relief which is now paying for recovery from Ian in our devastated state.
Our Florida senator also co-sponsored a national ban on women’s reproductive freedoms and voted to privatize Medicare and Social Security while at the same time voting to give a tax break to the rich, a vote surely applauded by his wealthy donors.
Now it’s our turn. Vote NO for Rubio. He has to go.
