Our guest speaker will be Brandon Moody, Water Quality Manager for Charlotte County. His presentation will discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding water quality assessment and improvement in Charlotte County.

Topics will include:

  • Brief overview of the land use and development history of Charlotte County;
  • The current state of water quality in the county and Charlotte Harbor;
  • What monitoring is being done now;
  • What monitoring is planned for the future, and;
  • How you can help lead the charge on improving and protecting our natural resources.

Brandon Moody is the inaugural Water Quality Manager for Charlotte County, arriving in March 2021. In this new position, he is responsible for the development of a county-wide water quality monitoring strategy, development of the county’s water quality management plan (One Charlotte, One Water), and inter-departmental coordination of water quality-related actions within the county.

Brandon comes to Charlotte County from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), where he supported the Nutrient Source Control and Water Quality Monitoring programs. Prior to SFWMD, Brandon spent 11 years with the Water Quality Monitoring section of Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division.
