PUNTA GORDA – Three dozen Charlotte County Democrats joined hundreds of other marchers in today’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade. Members of the County Democratic Executive Committee, the County Democratic Club, Charlotte County Democratic Women’s Club, and Young Democrats of Charlotte County participated.

Ctr.Dr. Alex Harper, Sr., President of the Florida Theological Seminary and Bible College of Lakeland, FL, delivered a stirring speech commemorating Dr. King’s legacy and challenged attendees to work together to establish universal health care in the United States. Dr. Harper said, “A man in the White House is trying to divide us.” Harper continued, “We must go to the polls. We must let our officials know we will hold them accountable.”
