While we wish we could be together for our 2020 Blue Gala “No Regrets” fundraiser, we are thrilled we can join together virtually on Saturday, September 19th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
This election is a battle for the soul of America and the state of Florida, a critical swing state that will make a difference in the outcome of this election.
Imagine going to sleep on the night of November 3rd feeling Hope and waking up on November 4 with No Regrets because you did everything you could to ensure victory.
We thank those who have already purchased tickets for the fundraiser originally planned for April and for your generosity in allowing us to use those funds toward our Vote-From-Home Campaign. You have helped to get the vote-by-mail application rate to 50 percent of all Charlotte County Democrats! During this pandemic, voting by mail is absolutely essential for increased voter turnout. We look forward to seeing you at our virtual fundraiser! No further action is required on your part. You will receive a Zoom link to join us!
For those who would like to attend our fundraiser and did not previously buy a ticket, we ask for your contribution of $75 or more to this virtual fundraiser. Your contribution will allow us to get vote-by-mail ballots to more Democrats in Charlotte County and left-leaning Independents along with postcard and texting reminders for ballot returns. And this year, we’ll mail our candidate and proposed Constitutional Amendment slate cards. Purchase your virtual ticket here and make a difference!
All tickets include our exclusive Cool-Blue Cocktail recipe, which we encourage you to enjoy in blue dressy or casual attire at our fundraiser.
This year the stakes have never been higher. “If Joe Biden wins Florida, it’ll be awfully tough for Trump to beat him nationally,” said Chair, Teresa Jenkins.
Our Blue Gala speakers will include the following line-up and a very important surprise guest!
Terrie Rizzo, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, will lay out the Party’s plan for awarding Florida’s 29 electoral votes to former Vice President Joe Biden. Florida is the largest swing state in our nation. Winning here is vital to the United States and to the world.
Sean Shaw represented Florida’s House of Representatives District 61 from 2016 to 2018 and was the Florida Democratic Party’s first African American nominee for Attorney General in 2018. In his historic campaign, Sean fought fearlessly to put regular Floridians first. Now as an attorney and civic leader, he’s continuing to stand up for working people.
Allen Ellison is our candidate for the U.S. House, representing Florida’s 17th Congressional District. Allen’s platform is centered around improving the quality of life for all citizens, protecting social security, healthcare, the rights of women and veterans, and developing green solutions for a safer environment.
Margaret Good is running to serve Florida’s 16th district in Congress because she believes Southwest Florida’s families deserve a representative who works just as hard as they do. She’s ready to roll up her sleeves and put your interests first.
David Jones is running for Florida House District 75. “I believe that 2% of the people control 98% of the power. We need to change that so the will of the people controls 100 percent.” David is running on a strong environmental platform. “No issue in Florida House District 75 should be considered more important than the environment to maintaining and improving our quality of life.”
Katherine Norman is our candidate for Florida State Senate to represent District 23. “It is my intention to bring transparency to all aspects of government and to make sure that all people who want to be involved with policy creation have a voice, and that all are represented.” Katherine’s platform is dedicated to prioritizing the welfare of all individuals, especially those that are the least advantaged.
Please join us from the safety of your own home and make our 2020 Blue Gala a great success. Purchase your virtual ticket here and make a difference!
